“Explain to me, why I don’t have the right to believe. I have tried so hard, but it’s still nothing new to me. You are not there for me, or maybe I’m too scared to see. Belief is not something simple. The truth lies within being able to see. I want to be saved. I want to believe, but I’m not sure if I’m ready to put my heart on the line, to be one with you, to waste my time. I wish I could look forward to this. Show me you exist. Deliverer, I am so lost, hear me now. I’ll never give up. My search is forever. I won’t give up, I can’t give up. Empty words echo off lonely walls. I am the broken one. Please save me from myself. The pieces of my heart are scattered and cold. They say you’re always listening, but I don’t believe that you can hear the words on my heart. I am a deceiver. You are a believer. Show me what it’s like to believe. I am a deceiver. You are a believer. This is my faith complex. I can never believe in you. Show me what it’s like to be someone who believes in something. Don’t let me be the fool that chooses to believe in nothing. Please find me. Please just help me. Show me what it’s like and save me.”

Realistically, I should have bought this album after the first 100 scrobbles of In Reach (Out of Touch), but it's never too late to do the right thing. This has a different atmosphere (and story) than The Lost City, but it's just as good and just as melodic. porcelainheart-
A masterful EP, The Oklahoma Kid is resoundingly beautiful and presents a work that is as meaningful as it is introspective. Fortuneteller encapsulates the very essence of the post-hardcore and metalcore genres, but effectively intertwines tech metal and crushing djent riffs into a very solid effort. The Oklahoma Kid is intelligent, passionately-moving, and intensely engaging; music of my golden years. :) Kenny McGalem
